Journaling can be a very helpful with many mental health issues especially low self-esteem and rampant self-doubt. Have you ever been extremely anxious, angry, sad, frustrated, and once you spoke to someone, or wrote it down, you felt better? Just being able to express yourself is very important for happiness. Journaling is a fantastic way to express yourself.
Expressing yourself can be a huge self-esteem booster. Why? Because holding your emotions, opinions, and fears in gives power to others around you. You let fear of what others think about what you do and what you say, control you. This often can cause very self-deprecating self-talk. I always pick up tons of notebooks for journaling, but never actually stick to writing each day. But I think it is a great idea and I am going to start!
I do the same thing. But also it’s not always necessary to write everyday to get the benefit of it. Write when you need to. Write when you have something you need to say or express that maybe you can’t any other way. It’s a great stress reliever that way. 🙂

I used to journal but stopped. Not sure because I got busy or because I moved on. I am currently taking time every evening to jot down a couple lines of my day.

I’ve loved journaling so much and this is a great list to come face to face with our emotions. Knowing our strengths and weaknesses, writing letter to teenage self are something I wish to start off with.
Journaling has been something that I have always wanted to do, because it sounds nice and I have heard many benefits to it, just like what you have written above, but I have never gotten to it! This is a great reminder of how great journaling is to the soul. Good thing blogging is a journaling outlet too 🙂 I’m taking baby steps into that!
